Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by websites you visit. Local storage (also known as Web Storage or localStorage) is a similar technology that allows websites to store data locally in your browser. Both are used to remember information about your visit.

2. What We Use

Puntazo Fantasy uses the following client-side storage mechanisms, all of which are strictly necessary for the operation of the Service: (a) Language preference cookie (NEXT_LOCALE): a first-party cookie managed by our internationalization framework to remember your chosen language (Spanish or English) between visits. (b) JWT authentication token: stored in localStorage to keep you signed in between visits. This is essential for the Service to function. (c) Post-login redirect (puntazo_redirect): a temporary value stored in localStorage when you try to access a protected page without a session, used to return you to the requested page after sign-in. All of these items are exempt from the prior consent requirement under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive.

3. Analytics

When analytics is enabled, we use Umami Analytics, a self-hosted, privacy-oriented web analytics tool. Umami does not use cookies by default, does not collect personally identifiable data, does not track users across websites, and does not build advertising profiles; IP addresses are anonymized or not stored. Even so, because the exact legal status of cookieless analytics may vary depending on configuration and the view of the competent data protection authority, we may request your consent via a banner before loading analytics if applicable regulation so requires. We do NOT use Google Analytics, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking cookies.

4. Third-Party Services

Some features load third-party resources or validations only on the pages where they are needed: (a) Cloudflare Turnstile: used on the contact form and on the account registration form as a CAPTCHA to prevent automated abuse. Turnstile may set cookies or use local storage in your browser for security and fraud prevention purposes. Cloudflare acts as a sub-processor. More information about Cloudflare privacy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

5. Future Changes

If in the future we introduce non-essential cookies (advertising, marketing, profiling), we will update this policy and request your explicit consent before setting them, in compliance with the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR.

6. Legal Basis

The cookies and local storage items described in section 2 are exempt from the prior consent requirement under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) because they are strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested. The third-party services described in section 4 are loaded on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in maintaining Platform security or, where applicable, on the basis of consent.

7. How to Clear Cookies and Local Storage

You can clear cookies and localStorage data at any time through your browser settings. In most browsers: open Settings or Preferences, navigate to Privacy or Site Data, find puntazofantasy.com, and clear its cookies and site data. Note that clearing authentication data will sign you out and clearing the language cookie will reset the language to the default.
